4-day Instructional Week
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
HAVE YOU HEARD THE BIG NEWS?!? |
For 2021-2022, we are proud, once more, to offer our students the 4-DAY INSTRUCTIONAL WEEK!
To say that our district is "a little different" is certainly an understatement. Our small size and atmosphere allow us to tailor our instruction and instructional day to best fit the needs of our students and their families. In our 2018-19 school year, we introduced the four-and-a-half day instructional week with two goals in mind:
- We wanted to acknowledge that time matters -- ALL time, family, and instructional.
- Gather the necessary feedback from our families and staff members in order to make the best, most informed decision regarding transitioning our district to a nontraditional 4-day instructional week.
At the end of the 2018-2019 school year, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, as well as staff, at the conclusion of the school year. The idea of families having opportunities to spend more time together resonated with our parents and guardians. Receiving such great responses, we decided to take the leap and made the final transition of implementing a 4-day instructional week for the 2019-2020 school year. As expected, students, parents, faculty, and staff gave us enormous positive feedback. Our district has had one year of experience with this type of calendar, and feel that this kind of schedule is a great fit for our little district!
Providing our students with an academically elite education is our mission, and we take this commitment very seriously. We believe that offering our students and staff a healthy balance of instructional time and family time contributes to the quality of life. Additionally, we strive to place the best teachers in the classrooms who are adept with the necessary skills and training for every instructional setting.
At Spring Creek ISD, we are committed to making positive impacts on the lives of our children and their families.
